The Skips Despite being warned that, according to the lockdown rules, travelling to the refuse site is not allowed, this is being ignored. Despite the availability of skips (1 Empty, 2 half full, two full) bags with refuse are just being dumped next to skips on the ground. Looking at the contents in some of the skips (e.g. old geyser, etc) it is clear that the signboard at the entrance, indicating what is allowed and what not allowed on site, is being totally ignored. In lockdown ! Despite the lockdown Kleinemonde is still functioning. Refuse is being collected, as usual, and urgent matters, like water problems, are being attended to by our Foreman and a skeleton staff compliment of two workers. Despite our small community and remoteness, we are also in lockdown and nobody will be allowed to leave their homes for the next 21 days unless  to: Seek medical care;Buy essential groceries;Visit the pharmacy;Access banking services;Get petrol; orCollect a social grant Those found breaking the lockdown rules are liable to 6 months imprisonment or a fine or both. Kleinemonde Newsletter             May  2019 Refuse site Our contract to manage the refuse site for a period of six months, starting October 2018, has been extended until end of June 2019, when it will be up for re-negotiation.
